Seems to me that the lighter ones almost tasted like burned paper. The Undercrown Shade is the only one that I've had that I actually enjoyed. I could never find a lighter stick that I could enjoy. Always just enjoy seeing what people are smoking to see if it's something I've not had and wish to try. Hopefully this year I'll be making it down to SpiceWorld and we'll have a Stogie Summit. I just hobbled to the back yard, copped a squat and Smoked a Stogie with a drink. I know when I was recovering, I was house bound. I think like most of us it's a social habit, sit back with a drink, a Stogie and just relax. While I don't appreciate the Oily Maduro's, but aside from those heavy suckers. Either that or were just to busy Smoking Stogies :) Yeah were a quiet lot, I think it's because we've been beaten down by the pc police. Not sure if I was doing something wrong (not sure you can) but it just didn't work out. I got the same bland flavor out of 6 different blends. I tried pipes and got a few tobaccos that smelled great from Dunhill but when smoked they just tasted bland. I can also relight a bowl easily, where cigars can get funky tasting if you put them out and relight them. Pipe tobacco is cheaper than cigars, and I can have a small bowl in a few minutes.

I have a small collection and found a great tobacco I really love. I gave him a nice hygrometer for Christmas so he can monitor it. One friend just got a humidor and I helped him to begin getting it seasoned and gave him a selection of about 10 cigars to get it going. I have many different brands in my box to smoke and share with friends.

The taste is excellent and toward the medium side, so I can enjoy it anytime. 48-52 gauge offers the best draw, in my opinion. The spicy maduro is fine after certain meals, but I like a good torpedo with Connecticut leaf & wrapper for a day smoke. Cubans are great, but expensive here because I have to get them through Canada. I've loved cigars for a few decades now, I have a well seasoned humidor where I keep a good selection handy.
